Christmas

This is my sister, Ann. She's the one that would sneak into my room when I was a baby to rock me to sleep. My Mom would say, "You're spoiling that child"! Everyone needs an Ann in their life. I made this scarf for her after she swooned over the yarn one day. I had such a good time making it for her.
This is Yemi. You may remember seeing her in previous posts. She has a innate sense of style. The bird she's wearing on her head is one of my Grandma's Christmas ornaments from years ago. I think it completes her outfit perfectly!

I had a busy Sunday...

This hat is for my friend, Sue. She's been patiently waiting FOREVER for her hat.
This is a hat from a friend I reconnected with on Facebook. She's a pink lover with an Ivory coat this season. I thought the cream button was just right to tie it all together.
I loooove this hat. It looks a bit dull in this picture (I sure hope my hubby has caught all my hints for a new camera for Christmas). Can't believe I found a button the same color.

New Hat

Here's a new hat that was delivered with a matching scarf yesterday. Anthony actually delivered it for me. I knew I could rope him in eventually!

This hat reminds me of a ski resort. I think of a super chic California woman wearing it. I have this idea in my head of how people in warm climates dress when they are visiting cold climates. Super stylish, fresh, and their hair never gets all static-y like mine does. They wear amazing boots (not Sorells) and never slip. Maybe it's because I've always lived in Minnesota that I have these silly images in my head or maybe it's just because I'm a nerd. :)

Winter Wonderland

Hi Everybody! Happy snow day. Here's my turkey soup out on the deck getting snowed on. I like to make a lot of soup at a time. When there's no room in my freezer this works nicely. :)

Chase

Here are some more shots of Chase. Mandy took these. Can you tell? :) Aren't they just precious?!?! Check out her blog to see more amazing shots from their first moments with their new little guy.

There's that big sister look again....love it. This is Jayden with her newest brother.

Olivia and Reed

These two cutie-pies are Olivia and Reed. I can't get over how much they look like their parents. I had a lot of fun making these hats. Maybe because they were a surprise. :) Olivia's flower is made from Moda fabrics I found at Fat Quarter Quilting. I really love how it turned out.

Quinn and Cooper in New York City

Come on! How adorable...look at Quinn with her "coffee" in New York City! Quinn and Graham were on the same soccer team this fall. She's a rock star player...such a natural. Cooper and Gav have a long history of wrestling whenever they see each other. Thanks for the pic Sonya!

Tara's kids

Here's a picture of Tara's little sweethearts. I love how big sisters are truly, deeply in love with their babies. Tara and I met at Knitting Club. It's one of my favorite things...chat, knit and see what everyone else is working on. You really can't beat hanging out with a bunch of fiber enthusiasts. :)

Today's Hats

Hi Everyone, it's 9 p.m. on a Tuesday and I could use a glass of wine. Instead, I think I'll go to bed. What a crazy day! Thank the Lord for quiet moments and the presence to appreciate them.

Hostess Gift

I made this hat as a hostess gift for a holiday party we are invited to. I'm going to make their son one too. I figure they'll get enough bottles of wine. :) This button is one of my favorites. It reminds me of my childhood. My Dad died when I was young, but I do remember his leather buttons. He'd always let me unbutton and rebutton his "Mr. Roger" sweaters. :)

Tanya's Hat

This is Tanya's hat. We went to high school together and reconnected on Facebook. I can't wait to see her in it. She has blonde hair so this pink will look great on her. We used black in her flower since she mostly wears black coats. Thanks T!

Some new pics of cutie-pies!

Oh my goodness! Isn't this sweet? This is KK in her hat. Look at those eyes! Wow. Thanks for letting me steal the pic off Facebook, Bec!

Girly Hats

I just love these...so girly! I used batiks on both flowers so they have a similar look, but not exactly the same. The twin sisters getting these are so adorable. I hope we get to see a pic of them in their new hats :)

A new girl's hat

Hi there,

Here's a new hat I made today. I mixed batik's with regular cotton fabrics. I'll share a photo of the cute little girl who's going to wear this when I get one.

Jen's hat

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. There is so much to be thankful for. Each of the things that are wonderful in my life add up to this big, peaceful feeling I have in my heart. What a gift it is to have our health and each other.

I love all the noises and commotion of having everyone over. All decided to sleep over so we had 12 people sleeping in our house at once. Anthony and I love when each room in the house is being slept in. That's a successful get-together!

Today Fin woke at 5:30 a.m. I decided be productive with this new found time that I have. I'm proud of my good spirits this early in the morning!Jen's hat...she has a matching scarf too, but I sent it off to Fargo without taking a picture of it. Opps....

I love this picture!!/kids' hats

It's late but I can't stop!! I had to share these pics Anne sent me of her kids. This is the first time I've seen her little boy...he's so cute! His eyes look so expressive, don't they? What adorable kids....

Baby Chase

Here's Chase with his big sister and brother in the hospital. I love how sweet both Jayden and Jake look just spending some time with their new brother. Mandy said the nurses at Mercy Hospital visited my blog after seeing Chase's hat. :) I hope the Birdwell's can get some sleep today since I hear Chase was up ALL NIGHT. Good thing he's soooo cute.....

Addy

Hi Everyone! Here's Addy in her hat. Look at those eyes...unbelievable. Thanks for sharing Lauren!

Twins!

These hats are for 2 year old twins who live in St. Louis, MO. I sat down at the health club for a couple minutes to work on them and I met quite a few new friends 75 and over. :)

For Tara's little girl...

The new owner of this hat is a brand new big sister. I hope she likes the hat. It's gotten a couple oooohs and aaahs...gotta love Amy Butler fabrics!

Leah's hat and scarf

This hat is for Leah. We met and craft weekend. Aren't those ladies nice to keep me in business? :) This button is from my friend, Becky. It's vintage and I just love it. You should have seen my Mom's face when I showed her the finished product. I was so proud since I made up the scarf pattern. She said, "Do they want that color?!?" I thought that was funny. This color is so great on brunettes. Leah, send me a pic :)

Jayden's new hat

Here's Jayden's new hat. Mandy and I picked out the color together to match her winter coat. I brought it over and she was wearing this adorable yellow shirt. Of course Mandy took pictures right away since the timing was so perfect.

Addy's Hat

I, once again, am sorry for the blurry picture! Here's Addy's hat. I can't wait to see her in it. Her Mom, Lauren, is good friends with my cousin, Kellei. We all connected via Facebook. Thanks Lauren! I hope Addy likes it. :)

Jenny's Hat

Happy Wednesday Everybody,

This hat is for Jenny. She's Mandy's cousin and we see each other a couple times a year for craft weekend. She gave me an idea of what colors she was looking for and I came up with this. I better send it quick or I might keep it for myself....

Busted Again!

Look at that guilty face.....

Women's Hat

I love this hat. It makes me feel better about winter.

Sam and Ava's New Sets

Sam's Pink Set
Sam's Brown Set
Ava's Pink Set

I get crabby dealing with scarves on kids. They seem to drag on the wet, dirty ground or disappear. My boys also like to use them as lassos...not great when they get their victim around the neck. :)

I asked Ava and Sam's Mom if we could try neck warmers instead. They are "in" this year so it's good timing. I can't wait to see them in their new stuff. Thanks Maria!

I know patience is a virtue...

This is the new thing at our house. I leave the room. Fin hops up on the island and jumps in the sink. He's up there so quick and quiet...he must be hopping and jumping. He's so proud of himself every single time. I know I shouldn't wish this stage of his life away. There are so many adorable things he does and he's so darn cute! However, I'm starting to understand how Moms feel under-appreciated or like their kids are ungrateful. How could a child begin to comprehend what we go through to raise them? There's no way Fin will know that all-day every-day from age 1 to age 2, I was his personal life guard. That's why we need our girlfriends (or as my husband says "the hens").

A sincere and heart-felt THANK YOU to all my hens.... :)

Sistas!

Look at this sweetheart! I love the one eye peeking out and the bubbles on her little lips....priceless!
So cute! Thanks for sharing, Anne.

More of Ava and Pres

I know this picture doesn't have one of my hats in it, but seriously?!?! Even the shoes match! What beautiful ladies...
I would love a rock like this in our yard. We had one as kids and it was the focus of our yard. We'd play on it for hours.
I can't get over the shoes in this family! And I loooove them with the outfit. I don't have that kind of vision. Pres is such a soft soul. She'll have such a great balance because her sister will teach her how to hold her own!
Ava and Pres

Have you ever seen this?

At our craft weekend some of the scrappers had Mac computers. This feature comes included. It's like when you were a kid at those county fairs in front of those trick mirrors. Remember those? This picture is quite creepy of me...I almost peed my pants...I could not stop laughing! Mandy said she was at Costco with her kids and tried it giggling on and on. I highly recommend it!
